Reflective Logs
Reflection is an integral part of planning effective lessons. Albert Einstein defined insanity as "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." While it is okay for teachers to experiment with different instructional strategies or forms of assessment, it is not okay to keep using methods that have been proven to be ineffective. It would be even worse if the teacher was oblivious to the fact that the methods are ineffective. We are responsible for providing the best education possible for our students, so we must reflect to figure out what works, what doesn't work, and what we can do to improve our methods. I have provided some of my own reflective logs from my teaching experiences. They can be downloaded as PDFs at the following links. (5b, 5c, 5e)
